BeCAUSE Community Fulfillment Survey
The BeCAUSE Community Fulfillment Survey is designed to measure personal growth, purpose, and overall fulfillment as you engage in the BeCAUSE Community Impact Challenge. This survey is influenced by well-established psychological frameworks that explore the core elements of well-being and life satisfaction.
It draws inspiration from the PERMA Model (developed by Martin Seligman), which identifies key components of well-being: Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. Additionally, it incorporates principles from Self-Determination Theory (Deci & Ryan), emphasizing the importance of autonomy, competence, and relatedness as drivers of intrinsic motivation and fulfillment. The survey also reflects aspects of the Flourishing Scale (Diener et al.) and the Authentic Happiness Inventory (Seligman), both of which assess life satisfaction, personal growth, and meaningful connection.
What makes this survey unique is its focus on personal contribution as a pathway to fulfillment. By combining these established psychological models with BeCAUSE Community’s core values—embracing community, actively engaging in contribution, and growing through discomfort—this survey not only measures well-being but also tracks how purposeful action and service to others can lead to a more meaningful, connected, and fulfilled life.
